There’s a place for you, whatever your schedule looks like.

There are many ways to get involved at Highland Terrace. Some families help once a year at a single event. Some take a recurring shift. Some coordinate an event or serve on the board. Right now we have people wearing a lot of hats, so if you're thinking about stepping in, we'd love to have you.

Please note:
If you are volunteering on campus during school hours, you must have a Shoreline Schools volunteer background check on file for the current school year.

Got an hour?
Show up for one event. Help at the book fair, staff a table at an evening event, or lend a hand with setup and cleanup. No prior involvement needed and no follow-up commitment.

Got a few hours a month?
Coordinate something small, join the Auction Committee, or take a recurring shift that fits your schedule, like K/1 lunch and recess support.

Ready to take something on?
Coordinate an event or join the board. More responsibility, and more support; you're never doing it alone.

  • We both volunteered at lunch and watched how much independence they give the older kids and how much support they offer the younger ones. That's when we thought, this is a good place for our kids.

  • Being involved with the PTA changed how I think about being a school parent. It began as a place I dropped off my daughter to a place where I know the staff, other parents, and understand how much of what happens at school depends on families showing up.
